The report "eClinical Trends Among Small Biopharma Organizations and CROs" explores the adoption and impact of clinical trial technologies among smaller biotech, pharma companies, and Contract Research Organizations (CROs). It emphasizes the growing uptake of these technologies in smaller organizations, which historically lagged behind larger biopharma in adopting such tools. The survey, conducted by Medrio (studioID) and Biopharma Dive, involved over 150 respondents from organizations that conduct human-subject clinical trials and use technology in their operations.
KEY FINDINGS FROM THE REPORT
TECHNOLOGY USAGE:
Popular Technologies: The most widely used technologies include Electronic Data Capture (EDC) (92%), Risk-Based Quality Management (RBQM) (65%), and eConsent (61%).
Phase Introduction: Technologies like EDC and eConsent are introduced in early trial phases (Phase I and II). Trials involving larger participant groups that use wearables and telemedicine are more common in later phases (Phase III and IV).
PERCEIVED ADVANTAGES:
Decision Factors: Data quality (77%) and efficiency (53%) are the primary factors considered when selecting clinical trial technologies. CROs emphasize efficiency more than biopharma organizations.
IMPLEMENTATION CHALLENGES:
Training and Onboarding: The most significant challenge reported is training and onboarding (55%), followed by budget constraints and change management.
Vendor Support: Despite challenges, 90% of respondents are satisfied with the support from their technology vendors during implementation.
FUTURE TECHNOLOGY UPTAKE:
Optimism and Concerns: While there is confidence in current technologies, there are concerns about their ability to handle emerging complexities such as synthetic control arms and decentralized trials.
Future Benefits: Improvements in data reliability and site selection are seen as exciting future benefits.
HOW CLINIKA RESEARCH WILL LEVERAGE TECHNOLOGY TRENDS:
By strategically adopting and integrating these eClinical technologies, Clinika Research can enhance the efficiency, data quality, and overall success of our clinical trials, ensuring we are well-prepared for the future complexities of clinical research.
OUR PLAN IS TO:
